“You don’t give yourself nearly enough credit. Think about how hard you try every single day.”
— Mel Robbins

I misplaced my keys the other day and I spent time cursing myself for the stupidity of doing it.

But here’s the thing, 99 times out of 100 I know exactly where my keys are.
And if I’m going to criticize and be upset with myself when I misplace them, then why don’t I celebrate the times I know where they are?

When I packed for a recent road trip, I forgot one thing and was ticked off at myself.

But I remembered 50 other things.

Why didn’t I bask in the afterglow of remembering the 50?

Now, some mistakes are, of course, more serious than others. But my point is how often we overlook the good that we do to focus on the one thing wrong that we did.

Today, learn from mistakes you make, but also give yourself credit for all the things you do right. If you added those up, you might be surprised at how good you really are.
