Unbreakable D-1 Baseball Records

As a new season begins, here are some records from the great history of college baseball that have been seemingly unapproachable:

  • Robin Ventura – Oklahoma St. – 1987 – 58-game hitting streak

  • Pete Incaviglia – Oklahoma St. – 1985- 48 home runs in a season, and 100 career HR

  • Marshall McDougall – Florida State – 1999 – 6 home runs and 16 RBI’s in one game

  • George Plender – Vermont – 1954-55 – 60.1 scoreless inning streak

  • Phil Stephenson – Wichita State – 1982 – Career leader in hits (480), walks (300), and stolen bases (206).

  • Jim LaFountain – Louisville – 1976 – Three grand slams in one game (two in one inning and four HR on the day)

  • John McBroom – Air Force – 1967 – Went 9-9 in one game

  • Don Guillot – Texas Rio Grande Valley – 1997 – 107 stolen bases in a season
