Nevada started their high school baseball season on Jan. 27, and Maine starts on April 17, but throughout the whole spring, it is an exciting time to be a high school baseball player and coach.

While everyone spends so much time talking about travel baseball and college recruiting, let’s not forget that there is nothing like playing with your friends, some whom you’ve known all your life, and representing your school and representing your town in front of classmates and your family. And unlike the summer, teamwork is everything, as the games actually matter, the score matters, and how the team does is more important than the individual.
