From the Publisher:

Between February and June, I saw 92 games live and in person. My travels encompassed college baseball, high school baseball, and college softball; from NAIA schools to Omaha; from Georgia and South Carolina to Ohio and Massachusetts. That doesn’t even include a ton of late-night games on ESPN from the west coast, and a million Regional, Super Regional and World Series games in all divisions on TV and the computer.

This Champions Issue intends to shine a light on all the baseball happening everywhere at all levels. Indeed, being present in Omaha at the College World Series was amazing and is probably the best and most accessible major sporting event in the country. However, all around the country there is found a love of baseball, love for one’s school, and a joy at being part of something bigger than oneself.

As for coaches, there are 1,789 teams and head coaches total across all divisions, yet only 11 win a World Series..

Congrats to those 11 coaches, but an equal congrats to the other 1,778 coaches for their care and commitment and work at making college baseball great.

Noah Darling from College Baseball Central sums it up best:.
