The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) was founded in 1962 and is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. The association conducts college baseball polls, pre-season and post-season All-American teams, and year-end awards.
Dick Howser Trophy
Honors excellence in performance, character, leadership and courage – all features to be emulated in memory of the late Dick Howser. The trophy, a bronze bust of the late Dick Howser, is permanently displayed at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, home of the Tampa Bay Rays. Sponsored by The Game Headwear.

Mike Martin National Coach of the Year
Given to an outstanding coach in honor of Mike Martin, the winningest head coach in NCAA Division I baseball history after he retired at Florida State in 2019 with a 2,029-736-4 mark over 40 seasons in leading the FSU program from 1980-2019.

Stopper of the Year
Honor for the top relief pitcher in college baseball.

Tony Gwynn Community Service Trophy
Created to honor Tony Gwynn’s legacy and the unyielding commitment to his community and the advancement of collegiate baseball. Trophy given to student-athletes who are active in their communities, represent their programs with integrity, and excel in on-field roles.
Award Winner: Chris Stanfield – LSU
Russell D. Anderson/Wilbur Snypp Award
Award honors a professional for contributions to the sport of college baseball
Named for longtime Ohio State SID and NCBWA founder Bill Snypp, as well as Russell D. Anderson, longtime treasurer and associate executive director for the NCBWA.
